The Program
The Children's Division:
The Children's Division is a great place to begin your child's dance experience. Dancers participate in weekly dance classes learning fundamental dance steps and choreography. Dancers are taught appropriate dance class etiquette and encouraged to express themselves through movement. Dancers in the Creative Ballet & Tap level and higher have the opportunity to participate in our December and June performances. Dancers may progress through the levels or begin in the age appropriate class. Dancers may not enroll in classes that CDT faculty find unsuitable. To be in the Taste of the Nutcracker, you must be enrolled by November 1st and the end of Feburary for the Petite Feet Performance. Enrollment is not accepted after March 1st.
Parent & Toddler: (18mo-3 years) Sing, dance and play together! Every 45 minute class includes dancing with scarves, instruments and activity songs which help develop body awareness and listening skills. Loose clothes that you can move in are required; dance attire is optional. Non-Performing Class.
Tiny Toes: ( Ages 2-3) This 45 minute, nurturing and playful class introduces children to the joy of dance. This class helps to develop children’s spontaneity and self-expression through explorations with space, time, and energy. Dance attire is recommended, not required. Non-Performing Class.

The School’s Performing Division: Enrollment accepted through October 31
The School Division marks the beginning of your child’s formal dance training in either ballet, jazz or tap. Lyrical, hip-hop and modern dance styles are also offered, depending on studio and teacher availability. Beginning in Level One at age 8, dancers will be promoted by the CDT faculty through Level Six. The number of classes per week will vary, depending on placement. Placement is based on age, muscular strength, flexibility, alignment and development of a dancer’s technique. Dancers may remain in the same level for more than one year. Entrance by audition or by graduation from CDT's Children's Division only. Dance uniform and consecutive enrollment is required.
